I am a philosopher and consultant in applied ethics, bioethics, and values-based decision making. I have over 30 years of teaching, training, consulting, and administrative work in a variety of settings: universities, business, state and federal government, health care, community, and research organizations.
I founded and directed the Health Sciences Ethics Program at the University of New Mexico.
Colleagues and I developed the Values History Form (hscethics.unm.edu/directives/values.html) the first "values inventory" approach to advance directives. I continue to work on ways to improve our health care decision making skills throughout our lives.
I speak, train and write about Values-Based Decision Making, Bioethics, Advance Care Healthcare Planning, and End of Life Decision Making.
Please see my CV for an expanded professional biography.
